XD does not stand for extra distance. Rather, the XD is another great disc in the Innova series of putters. While it is not made for distance, it is your go-to putter on a long approach or long putts. Some actually use the putter as their distance disc when nothing else is available. The XD is only available in DX plastic. For those who are dyslexic, this can be very confusing (or very straightforward).
About Innova Metal Flake Dark Star Plastic
Metal Flake Dark Star is a rare version of Innova's star plastic which is a grippy, resilient plastic blend by Innova. Star plastic is grippy and durable, and some consider it to be the top-of-the-line plastic from Innova. Star discs retain their flight paths better than other plastics and are known for their high performance and reliability. The Metal Flake Dark Star plastic is only offered in black but has glittery metal flakes in the plastic.
