How MVP got the Retooled Time-Lapse to be more like the Proto
The wait is over! MVP and Simon Lizotte are back with a retooled version of the Simon Line Time-Lapse — and it's the disc they always dreamed it would be. Whether you're a Simon fan, a big-arm bomber, or someone who just loves innovation, this upgrade was worth the journey.
As the first disc in the Simon Line, the Time-Lapse had huge expectations — and while the first run looked great on paper, it didn't quite match Simon’s vision in flight. MVP and Simon took the feedback seriously and went deep into the science of disc manufacturing to fix it. We're talking high-precision lasers, parting line measurements, and even tweaking shoulder angles by literal microns.
Turns out, making a perfect 12-speed driver requires more precision than most production methods could deliver. So MVP invested in serious tools like a $50,000 Keyence Laser Microscope and developed a custom in-house color dosing system to make sure every disc molds up exactly right.
While the original runs of the Time-Lapse were a bit more overstable than planned (Neutron and Fission), they still flew well — just not quite like Simon intended. The retooled version fixes that with micro adjustments to the shoulder and PLH (Parting Line Height), making it more comfortable in hand and way more dialed in on flight consistency.
