MVP Project Lab Coat: A New Look for GYRO® Discs in 2026

What Is MVP Project Lab Coat?

MVP Disc Sports is gearing up for a major visual refresh with Project Lab Coat — a forward-looking update that reimagines how MVP discs look while keeping the flight and feel players already trust.

This isn’t a new plastic, mold, or flight change. Instead, Project Lab Coat is all about modernizing MVP’s visual identity as the brand heads into 2026 and beyond.

A Fresh Look With Purpose

For over a decade, MVP’s black GYRO® rim has been one of the most recognizable looks in disc golf. Project Lab Coat keeps that iconic identity intact — while refining it for improved visibility, consistency, and modern design standards.

MVP describes Project Lab Coat as a commitment to visual excellence — aligning disc aesthetics with the cutting-edge engineering that defines their lineup.

What’s Changing (And What’s Not)

White GYRO® Rims Become the New Standard

Beginning in 2026 production runs, MVP discs will transition from the classic black GYRO rim to a clean white GYRO rim. This change improves visibility in flight, makes discs easier to spot on the ground, and provides a neutral base for bold stamp designs.

Updated Stock Stamp Designs

Alongside the rim update, many MVP and Axiom stock stamps are getting refreshed. Some designs will be fully reworked to take advantage of modern multi-foil stamping, while others will receive subtle refinements.

Well-established modern designs — including Eclipse and Simon Line releases — will remain unchanged.

Plastic & Flight Stay the Same

What’s not changing is just as important: MVP confirmed that plastic blends, molds, and flight characteristics remain untouched. Every disc will continue to perform exactly as players expect — only the visuals are evolving.

Why Project Lab Coat Matters

  • Better visibility in the air and on the course
  • Modernized aesthetics for players and collectors
  • Stronger brand consistency across MVP and Axiom lines

For collectors, Project Lab Coat also marks the beginning of a new era — making early white-rim runs especially notable as MVP’s lineup evolves.

When Will Project Lab Coat Discs Release?

The Project Lab Coat rollout will begin with select MVP molds in early 2026. Popular models will transition first, with the updated look expanding across the lineup throughout the season.

Existing black-rim stock will continue to be produced and sold during the transition, giving players time to experience both generations.

The Bottom Line

Project Lab Coat represents MVP Disc Sports refining its identity without compromising performance. It’s a thoughtful visual update that improves visibility, elevates design, and sets the stage for the next chapter of MVP discs.

If you’re excited about where MVP is headed, this is one release worth watching closely.
