Legacy Rebel: Collaborating For Consistency

There's already been a lot of changes to our favorite sport this year. From sponsorship deals to rule changes and everything in between, 2023 has been crazy, and we're just getting started! To welcome in 2023, Legacy Discs are releasing a new putter! It is the Splattered Rebel, and feedback has been extremely positive. Legacy and EV-7 have come together to create this new stable putter for Legacy’s lineup, and we couldn't be happier.

With flight numbers 2-3-0-3, one can expect a beefy, yet glidey putter that can handle headwinds and power throws off the tee. When thrown hard it will resist turn and fly straight with a predictable fade at the end of the flight. It stays in the air well, but quickly comes to the ground when it slows down, making it great for approaches. The Rebel behaves similarly to a EV-7 Penrose, flying with consistent and reliable fade.

The Rebel is made with a special blend of plastic which gives it a splattered candy look. This blend gives the putter a perfect balance of texture, stiffness, grip, and durability. The splattered aesthetic of this disc looks phenomenal, almost like a custom dye. This plastic is the "Goldilocks" of firmness and grip, being right in the middle of stiff-as-a-board and floppy. The bit of softness makes misses smaller, but the firmness inspires confidence all the way from outside the circle and around the basket.

Legacy Discs are releasing the Rebel as a PDGA approved prototype with a never-before-seen prototype stamp, which makes sense. It's not very often you see a collaboration between two disc golf companies, so we might expect something never-before-seen to have a brand new stamp to go with it! Disc golfers around the world love a good prototype disc, and the Rebel is no exception. This could be the next big thing in disc golf, so who wouldn't want to get in on the action right at the start?

The Legacy Discs Rebel has a lot of potential. From the new plastic blend, to the collaboration with one of the best putter producers, this new disc has a pedigree like few others. With heritage from EV-7, the company who's focus has been on short game, the Rebel has all the ingredients of a stellar disc. We're looking forward to putting the Rebel through the wringer, and seeing just how good our scores can be on the other side.
